Griffin Communications and News 9 announced a new special - Oklahoma’s Own Originals: State Fair Stories today. All the traditions, attractions and fun from the past 100+ years of the Oklahoma State Fair can be enjoyed in State Fair Stories as we look forward to the fair returning in 2021.

The special will give viewers the chance to experience a taste of the Oklahoma State Fair that will be notably absent in 2020 due to ongoing Covid-19 precautions. State Fair Stories will air on Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. and daily State Fair segments will also appear on News 9 throughout the week of Sept. 14-18.

“We will all miss going to the Oklahoma State Fair this year, so we’re excited to share part of the experience in State Fair Stories,” said Todd Spessard, Griffin Communications’ Vice President of Content. “State Fair Stories gives viewers a chance to look back at memorable moments from fairs past as well as a glimpse into the future.”

Many people dream about fair foods and State Fair Stories will show how they can still get some of those delicious fair delicacies. Viewers will get to revisit some of the State Fair’s greatest performances and learn what is being done to improve State Fair Park.
